TC: Resident Evil has a plethora of adversaries to pick from. Why Nemesis, and what distinguishes him from the other characters in Dead by Daylight? DR: Whenever feasible, we want to showcase iconic characters with a heritage in Dead by Daylight. Nemesis was a no-brainer for us, since it is the series' most infamous monster. His looks and strength are ideal for our game.

On June 19, 2019, Behaviour Interactive Inc. announced plans to make Dead by Daylight available for free on iOS and Android in an effort to increase the game's accessibility to gamers worldwide.

Dead by Daylight Mobile was originally scheduled to premiere in 2019, however the creators were forced to delay the launch until 2020, citing the necessity for more time to work on bugs and optimization. [73] On February 27, 2019, Behaviour announced that the mobile versions would be distributed in Southeast Asia, Japan, and Korea by Chinese video game publisher NetEase Games. Petrana Radulovic of Polygon does not play Dead by Daylight but does browse the fan-maintained wiki. âReading horror satisfies my urge to be delighted without making the experience unpleasant,â she says. âThe wiki is free and always available, and it has a wealth of intriguing and terrifying tales â and they are often so implausible that they seldom terrify me in the way that reading about genuine crime does. âIt is true that tales of cannibals kidnapping young schoolgirls and murderers dressed as Ghostface from Scream colliding in a realm of eternal slaughter are unreal. However, who cares? It's enjoyable.
The Resident Evil 'chapter,' as DBD refers to DLCs, introduces Nemesis as a new antagonist, Leon S. Kennedy and Jill Valentine as two new survivors, and a stunning new area recreating the Raccoon City Police Department. Leon and the map are from Resident Evil 2, while Nemesis and this incarnation of Jill are from Resident Evil 3. Finally, and maybe most intriguingly, Nemesis is the first Dead by Daylight antagonist to be accompanied by AI-controlled zombies. Although Nemesis is not the most renowned antagonist in the Resident Evil franchise, it's easy to understand why he was chosen: his powers are a perfect match for Dead By Daylight's experience. Nemesis (who will be referred to in-game as 'Tyrant' for some reason) can fling his magnificent arm-tentacles forward, giving him a vast melee range, and upon striking a survivor, they are 'infected' with his 'killing power': the T-virus. Subsequent strikes will begin stacking more damage on top of this.
