When it comes to tape, size is more about the breadth and thickness of the tape than it is about the length of the roll (bigger projects would simply need more rolls of tape). Both are often expressed in millimetres (mm). Narrower tape widths make it considerably simpler to hide tiny portions, corners, and tight locations. Wider tapes, on the other hand, are better for covering bigger areas and adding extra layers of protection against paint drips or splashes, for example. Adhesion Masking tape is quite sticky. While this is mostly based on the tape's quality and material composition, various varieties have variable degrees of stickiness. This is advantageous since it enables you to use less adhesive tape when dealing with sensitive surfaces or recently painted materials. On the other hand, stronger adhesive levels will almost certainly be required when applying tape to rough surfaces or in harsh temperatures.
Seal the tape's edge
On a relatively smooth surface, fluid paint often leaks beneath the edge of masking tape; but, on a textured medium, such as canvas, it is even more difficult to secure the tape entirely around the edge. You may not notice leaks until you remove the tape, at which point you may spend considerable time cleaning away wet paint or painting over dried paint leaks. The trick is to apply the tape in such a way that it forms a smooth, solid barrier around the edge.
